Hi!

I'm T (as in TNotes) and this little section is to let you know a bit about me. Most of my students call me Mz T or (LadyT). I have been playing the piano since I was 4. I was pounding those keys as they rolled the piano in the door--and playing ever since!

Trained with the infamous Red Books (John Thompson), I learned almost everything I could from them and then after practice time was over, played "by ear" and improv and for fun anything else I wanted. Thank you, Mom. Back in those days, the PTB didn't want kids playing by ear. Fortunately, things are better now--and even the method I teach sets the student up to learn to play from many different viewpoints. But I digress.

I grew up singing and playing and then began to work as an Accompanist for some very talented vocalists. What great experience I was getting and didn't ever realize it at the time! Then I began singing with some of them, then singing in different bands--mostly contemporary gospel bands. Played weddings, special venues, did some front band playing with folks like Barry McGuire, the Imperials, Dallas Holmes--what fun! Did all that for about 10 years before marrying and raising 3 children--all grown now--but taught traditional lessons part time while homeschooling my own.

By the time my kids were starting to be grown ups, I knew one thing. I did NOT want to teach traditional piano lessons anymore. I didn't want to go back to the hospital work I had done for 10 years either. Then I found Simply Music which is what I am teaching now.

Along with some vocal instruction and Performance Coaching, I spend the majority of my time teaching SM. If you have never heard of it, you owe it to yourself to take a look at their website, simplymusic.com.

Please do yourself the service of doing your own research and then attending a free info session. That's the only way to truly assess the magic and the fun of learning that the method employs.

Over the years I have continued to play now and then but sharing my music through this method has brought me the most joy and is the most gratifying musical work I have ever done. You owe it to yourself to check us out and discover your own (or your child's) musicianship.
